Entry Coil Breaker Assembly
The four (4) coil breaker rolls permit starting new coils without changing straightener roll depth settings. All rolls are hardened, ground and mounted in anti-friction bearings. The upper two (2) rolls are mounted on a bearing block that pivots at one end. The lower two rolls are mounted in line with the lower straightener rolls and are separated by a steel plate. During thread-up, the leading edge of the material is jogged into the coil breaker assembly. The upper rolls clamp down via air cylinders, using the (4) powered rolls and plate to bend the leading edge enough to thread it into the straightener head.
Pneumatic Peeler Table w/ Blade
A pneumatically actuated peeler table facilitates coil thread-up by guiding the leading edge of the material from the stock reel to the entry rolls of the straightener at an appropriate angle over various coil diameters. A pneumatic peeler blade is provided on the table. The blade, mounted within the peeler table, when extended, can be positioned directly under the leading edge of the coil, thereby fully guiding material during the threading process.
Powered High Lift Head
The powered high lift head feature allows for motorized adjustment of the upper straightening rolls in lieu of the handwheel adjustment. Both the entry and exit ends of the upper roll bank are raised and lowered by the use of two AC motor/drive screw assemblies and are actuated by two switches (one for entry, one for exit). The powered head also allows for 6" high lift on the upper straightening rolls, especially useful in cleaning the rolls.

1.) The consolidated controls package includes solenoid operated valving with pushbutton controls and our exclusive "Auto Ready" function, which moves all threading features to a neutral position in preparation for automatic operation. A full diagnostic touchscreen operator interface utilizes a multi-color display and input panel. The interface provides complete operator prompting of threading procedures, a maintenance schedule with service points for the entire system, on-screen digital roll position readouts, and in-depth diagnostic fault messages with recommended remedies. If the system is provided with the powered high lift head, then the interface will also allow automatic roll position adjustment through material thickness.
2.) A full diagnostic touchscreen operator interface, which can be included to the consolidated controls package, utilizes a multi-color display and input panel. Interface provides complete operator prompting of threading procedures, maintenance schedule and service points for the entire system, and in-depth diagnostic fault messages with recommended remedies. If the system is provided with powered straightener roll positioning, then the interface will also allow automatic roll position adjustment through material thickness input.
3.) Our "Total System Control" adder to pushbutton controls described above provides that added ability to automatically set the straightener roll position in systems equipped with powered roll adjustment. Roll position is programmed into the job memory, and provides automatic position upon recall of the job.
